Please review the following directive from the M. Ven. Sovereign Grand Master of the Allied Masonic Degrees of the United States of America. This information should be distributed to all Councils of the Allied Masonic Degrees in the United States of America.
Brethren all:
I’ve received correspondence from three Grand Superintendents on this issue. I will therefore take the opportunity to share the following (in addition to the well rehearsed advice on washing hands, etc.):
If your respective Grand Lodges have issued instructions regarding Masonic meetings, the Allied Masonic Degrees Councils in each jurisdiction will, at a minimum, follow the instructions of the Grand Lodge of that jurisdiction.
If the civil government in your locale has issued instructions regarding the matter, the Allied Masonic Degrees Councils in those locations will, at a minimum, follow the direction of the civil government.
Additionally, it is strongly advised that those over the age of 65, and those with hypertension, heart disease, lung disease, or diabetes do not attend Council meetings through April. This advice may change as circumstances change.
It is also strongly advised that meetings of over 100 members not take place through April. This advice may also change as circumstances change. It is understood this could impact in-gatherings being planned for May.
Additionally, if you are or a family member are exhibiting signs of the virus, please do not attend our meetings at this time.
Should you proceed with meetings, it is recommended that you consider how to perform the ceremony with a minimum of physical contact and contact with the Volume of Sacred Law.
Again, this advice may change as we move forward.
